SolarFast UV Reactive Paints

SolarFast UV Reactive Paints allow you to create photograms, continuous tone photographs and shadow prints on fabric and paper. Draw or print an opaque design onto a sheet of acetate and lay flat onto a surface freshly coated with SolarFast. Expose the design to strong sunlight or a UV light source such as our P074. Watch the colour strengthen as your design develops. Any object that casts a shadow will create a pattern. Exposure times vary, but range from 10 to 24 minutes depending on the UV light source. The light fixes the dye, areas in shadow will not be fixed. To complete the colour development, wash out any undeveloped dye with the SolarFast Wash Out and hot water, agitating vigorously. SolarFast thins and cleans up with water and can also be thickened with SolarFast Thickener for relief printing and screen printing the colour onto a surface.
