Batik & Cold Water Dye Fix

This is Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate) and is used to permanently bond Procion Dyes to fibres made from cellulose fibres such as: Cotton, Calico, Linen, Viscose, Rayon, Jute, Sisal as well as Silk. It creates the correct alkaline environment in the dyebath for the dyes to permanently bond with the fibres. Any procion dye such as the Specialist Crafts batik & cold water dyes are then permanent and light fast.

By also adding some salt to your dye bath the fibres of the fabric are more receptive to the dye. Dissolve salt and this dye fixative in hot tap water before adding to the dye bath. 500g.
