The Bernette 42 Coverstitch Machine is designed for creating neat, professional-looking hems, decorative stitching and garment finishes. With three coverstitch options and a chain stitch, it provides the specialist stitching functions needed for garment construction and textile projects.

The machine features 4-thread and 3-needle capability, with coverstitch widths of 2.8mm and 5.6mm. Coverstitching is particularly useful for hemming knitted and stretch fabrics, creating parallel rows of stitching on the right side with a flexible stitch formation underneath.

A differential feed helps control fabric movement to reduce unwanted stretching or puckering, while the spacious 87mm working area provides room for handling fabric during sewing. Integrated LED lighting improves visibility around the needle.

Colour-coded threading paths and a manual needle threader help make preparation more straightforward. Frequently used accessories can be stored inside the looper cover, keeping essential tools close at hand.
