A Better Future Starts With Accountability

We believe creativity has the power to shape a better future. As a supplier to schools, colleges and universities, we also believe we have a responsibility to understand and reduce the impact our business has on the world around us.

We're not interested in making grand claims or chasing headlines. Instead, we're focused on taking practical steps, measuring our progress and being transparent about where we're succeeding and where we still have work to do.

Every year, we independently measure our carbon footprint, review our operations and look for opportunities to improve. Some changes are small. Some are more ambitious. Together, they help us move forward.

The Numbers Behind Our Progress

Since our last reporting period:

18% reduction in emissions from outbound deliveries

Finding smarter ways to get products to customers while reducing transport-related emissions.

15% reduction in employee commuting emissions

Supporting more efficient ways of working and reducing unnecessary travel.

4.8% reduction in energy-related emissions

Making improvements across our operations to reduce day-to-day energy consumption.

Annual carbon reporting and measurement

Tracking our impact year after year so that decisions are guided by evidence, not assumptions.

Small Improvements Matter

Since our last reporting period:While we've reduced emissions in several areas, we've also seen increases elsewhere, including inbound transport and business travel. Rather than hiding those figures, we believe transparency is important.

Understanding where our impact comes from helps us identify where future improvements can be made. Over the coming year, we'll continue working with suppliers and logistics partners to better understand transport emissions, review opportunities to improve freight efficiency, and ensure business travel is undertaken thoughtfully and only where it adds genuine value.

Progress isn't always linear, but measuring, learning and taking action remains an important part of our approach.

Sustainability Builds Everyday Decisions

Rather than treating sustainability as a separate initiative, we're working to make it part of everyday decision-making across the business.

We focus on:

  • Reducing unnecessary emissions across our operations
  • Working with suppliers who share our values
  • Reviewing packaging and materials where practical alternatives exist
  • Measuring our environmental impact annually
  • Looking for opportunities to improve efficiency across our supply chain

Supporting Our Communities

Being responsible means more than reducing emissions.

We're proud to support the communities around us through charitable initiatives, fundraising and employee involvement.

Whether supporting local causes, providing volunteering opportunities or contributing to community projects, we believe businesses should play an active role beyond their commercial responsibilities.

Recent initiatives include:

  • Supporting local charities including LOROS
  • Employee fundraising activities
  • Volunteering opportunities for staff
  • Ongoing investment in education and creative learning

Creativity and Education

Everything we do is rooted in education.

By supporting teachers, technicians and educators with quality creative resources, we help thousands of students access art, design and technology education every year.

While our environmental journey continues, our wider purpose remains the same: helping creativity thrive in classrooms today while being mindful of the impact we leave for future generations.

Our Commitment

We don't claim to have all the answers.

But we do believe progress starts with measurement, transparency and a willingness to improve.

We'll continue to review our impact, report our findings and look for practical ways to reduce our environmental footprint while supporting the educators and communities we serve.
