Specialist Crafts Metallic Earthenware Glazes

Low-fire glazes which can be used by themselves or used with our earthenware glazes.

These wonderful metallic finish glazes are lead-free but as with most metallic glazes, they contain toxic metals so must not be used for dinnerware or items which will come into contact with food or drink.

Apply three to four coats and allow to dry after each layer. For best results do not fire metallic glazes with greenware as the lustre can be diminished. To achieve best results, fire fast and cool fast with no hold at top temperature when in kiln to prevent burning due to oxidized metal.

Fire to 1040°C.
