Meet the Artist

Jenny Mason-Gunning

Printmaker • Author • Tutor

Based in the historic town of Ironbridge, Shropshire, Jenny Mason-Gunning is one of the UK's most respected contemporary printmakers. Known for her expressive approach to printmaking and generous teaching style, she has spent decades inspiring artists, teachers and students through workshops, demonstrations and professional practice.

Jenny works across a range of traditional printmaking techniques, with a particular passion for monoprinting, collagraph, drypoint and etching. Her work explores the beauty of the natural world through layered textures, expressive marks and rich, atmospheric colour, creating prints that are both technically accomplished and deeply personal.

Printmaking is woven into Jenny's family history. Her father, Dave Gunning, designed the renowned Gunning Etching Press in the 1980s, while today her husband, Dave Mason-Gunning, continues to hand-build these highly respected presses for artists and studios around the world. This remarkable heritage gives Jenny a unique connection to British printmaking, combining generations of craftsmanship with a lifelong passion for sharing the medium with others.

Whether you're completely new to monoprinting or looking to expand your existing skills, Jenny's workshops provide an encouraging environment where experimentation, creativity and confidence flourish.

Keep up to date with Jenny's work here:

"Printmaking is full of possibilities. Every layer, every mark and every print reveals something unexpected, and that's what keeps the process so exciting to explore."

— Jenny Mason-Gunning
